Dad

Should my Dad
return and stand
alone
on this isolated beach
I’d reach out
and take his cold hand
and if, understandably,
puzzlement and bereavement
overcame him,
I’d say I’d brought him here
to remind him that he was
always a gentle man,
a gentleman,
a good man
 
and continues to be so,
in my mind,
when I bring him back
to life.
