Colour & Concentration

Hub slept pretty well last night, unlike me, who was awake every half an hour or so it seemed! He even had a nice dream instead of the horrible dark ones hes been having :-)

We were both fast asleep when the phone rang at 7.55......another one of those phantom callers, sooo annoying! Needless to say we were both wide awake after that!

I toddled off downstairs to sort our breakfast, which was cornflakes & toasted fruit scones for hub, cornflakes and a slice of toasted fruit bread for me, with two cups of tea.

We were up and downstairs by 10 this morning!! Quite a few jobs to get through, including the rest of the ironing, a mountain of shredding, documents that hub had filtered out a day or so ago! Then emails, printed and signed our new Wills, got them witnessed, so thats another thing off hubs mind.

Our jigsaws have arrived today, not started one yet though, too tired today, so maybe tomorrow.

Todays blip is what we were doing a day or so ago to pass some time......it definitely did help relax us and divert hubs mind away from other thoughts. The pencil crayons and felt pens were my mums, bought for her by us, so quite fitting that they have come back to us and are now helping to distract us, like they did for mum after dad passed away.

Hub had his weekly chat with the District Nurse today just to check in on how he's doing. He shared his good news with her.

We had oxtail soup with a corned beef and tomato sandwich for lunch....it was ok, the soup doesnt taste like I remember it as a child :-/

A bit of work in the garden this aft, swept up some wet leaves and generally tidied the patio & paths.....looks better! hub was watching some horse racing on tv.

Late evening Imheard the letterbox go, a small drawstring bag, with silver tissue paper inside. When we opend it there were to little silver angel keyrings, one with geey pearsl, the other with pink, with a little note from one of our neighbours just saying "two little angels to watch over you" .......how thoughtful is that :-)

Dinner this evening was a pork spare rib chop roasted with thyme and black pepper, sliced potatoes with paprika, cooked till, rispy in themoven, with carrots, courgettes and a few mushrooms.....hub ate the lot, said he really enjoyed it :-) we are currently waiting for the other apple & blackberry crumble I made to warm through in the oven, we shall have that with some icecream for dessert ;-)

Spoke to middle son today.....hes at home currently and has been going out for a run late afternoon. The two youngest granddaughters have been going too, they are 5&7, they ran 3.2 miles yesterday! He was telling me that sadly yesterday morningmwhen they all went out tomfeed their rabbits, "Boy" their girl rabbit, named by Olivia when she was about 3, had gone to rabbit heaven, leaving just Reggie, the other rabbit on his own....but he gets on really well with Tigger, their cat ;-)

My team are on tv this evening, away at Burnley....we should win, but you just never know with my lot.....if we do win, we will go top of the table!

Hubs been as good today as hes been since his diagnosis, more like his old self, chatty, smiley, done 4 lots of 200 steps today, eaten really well......long may it continue :-D

Hope you are all staying safe at home and taking care out there.
