Back blip!
We all had such a good day, yesterday. It was a shame that I ended up during the night with a stomach upset. Guess it had to happen! Full on unusual days after months of just the two of us.
So Granny (me) was ordered to “look after myself and go back to bed” this morning. Which I duly did, as it also coincided with our youngest grandchild having a disturbed night’s sleep. Common at that age. Her dad was the same when he was young!
I surfaced mid afternoon and was able to sit with them just before teatime, as after all the activities of many kinds (!) three of them were watching some episodes of Shaun the Sheep.
Sammy was baking a Cinnamon and Raisin loaf with Grandad.
It looks rather yummy.
Now in bed again at 8.30pm feeling so much better and as the old saying goes, tomorrow is another day.
We are all gradually working our way towards some kind of routine, and timetable for meals, plus on-line food shop.
It is a lot clearer obviously than this time last week when we had the phone call to discuss them coming to stay. What a lot has happened since then!
Sorting out the loft bedroom, and finding all the bedding. Digging out the old toy boxes and train set which they love, stocking up on craft supplies!
Making sure our small “office cum bedroom” had a black out for the nighttime, with a travel cot set up.
I forget that so much happened before they actually got here, that it’s no wonder I had a blip last night.
As our son and daughter-in-law said. It is so important to look after yourself too! I find that hard. Naturally wanting to help them have the space and extra help they all need.
So today’s blip is of Sammy 9, and Toby 4 climbing at the park yesterday.
They all went back again this morning for a session. Then some home school sessions this afternoon. Libby’s class had a Zoom session with an archaeologist from the British Museum, on their class topic for this term which is the Iron and the Bronze ages. She really enjoyed it. As it was an interactive session at the end with her class who could ask questions. She liked seeing her friends.
Time for a bedtime drink and plain biscuit!
I’ll be behind with comments again!
