fresh cut

Much to my surprise, the arborist who came to look at our dying peach tree said it still had some life in it. So he just trimmed off the dead branches for now. And the woodpeckers have been frequent visitors to the fresh cuts.
This is a male Downy Woodpecker packing it in before the snow comes tonight.
