View from the bridge
Cycled over Victoria Bridge. The river has submerged the path underneath. The swan seemed a bit cross.
The market is now open. It's reported that the press knew the market was open last Tuesday yet the traders weren't informed until a meeting at 1.30pm Friday, three days later. Bizarre priorities the council have.
It was a relief to get bread, fruit, vegetables and dried fruit in one location today. Shoppers were being considerate and complying as many were before the market was closed. The council's actions has dented their reputation and branded them as chaotic and unreasonable. OH always likes to play devil's advocate equated the situation to drivers behaving badly on the road. My response was but they don't close the road to all because of the offenders. The offenders are dealt with..
Also heard today that this rotten council are going to start building on the recreation ground in February not March as previously stated. We're mid-pandemic, children are off school. Many working from home, gyms and pools closed, government entreats us to 'stay local' and building is to occur in a ward with the least green space in the city. Sign of a caring council? No.
Batten down the hatches for Storm Christoph, and stay safe.
