Why did I come in here?

For those in danger on the sea

The volunteer Coastguard, as was, now the National Coastwatch Institution, on the cliffs at St Agnes. A brisk north westerly bringing in large clouds but little if any rain.
Walkers and hounds were cowering in their warm gear. In summer they'd be scudding along like galleons under full sail.
The extra is the view from here towards Perranporth and, in the distance, Newquay. (Handy for landing G7 voluntary gravy train volunteers)
The Coastguard still organise the cliff rescue party and the Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter based at Newquay, alongside the Air Ambulance.
Five years ago a pervert was taking photos of youngsters on Portreath beach, he ran away up the coastal path chased by lifeguards and parents. When stopped he threw his SD card over the cliff and was chipper as a chipper thing until the Police waited for the Coasties. One of whom shimmied down the cliff on a rope or three, then returned with the evidence in his mitt. "Clang! Mind your fingers!"
