Discing the land

This morning I got up and saw this lovely sunrise - it was still rather dark, and if you look closely, you may just see some eyes from the cows looking at you. It was a full moon, and the cloud and red sky going over the moon gave the sky a very 'spooky' feeling.

This morning we had a contractor in to disc up the paddock that had our first crop of turnips in. The cows finished these turnips a few weeks ago - the paddock was sprayed out for weeds about 10 days ago, so it was all ready for discing. Now that it has been prepared, Farmerboy is ready to sow new grass seed. However, he won't be doing that until there is some rain in the forecast - which may be some way off yet.

We haven't long been in from milking; we were herd testing today. Not a fun job to do in the 29 degrees C heat that we currently have.
