The storm continues
All this week the wind chill has hovered below zero and the easterly wind has howled incessantly. There seems little respite from this weather in the forecast.
After lunch we braved the elements for a walk to the far end of the beach. We made good progress with the wind behind us. The return was much more challenging.
There had been sightings of a seal sheltering from the storm on the beach but we missed that. We did see a number of merchant ships sheltering from the storm in Musselburgh Bay and many seabirds seeking refuge in the rocks.
My blip shows a group of oystercatchers with the island of Inchkeith lurking in the freezing murk.
