An 8 mile walk in the freezer

The windchill kept the temperature very low all day today. The best way to keep warm on a day when snow flurries blow through on the easterly wind is to keep moving. With that in mind we headed onto The John Muir Way and followed it to the Esk at Musselburgh. We passed QMU and saw the work in progress to build a drive through vaccination centre in the car park.

We met a professional wildlife photographer on the Esk who told us she was looking for a kingfisher but had not seen one for some time. She also told us that there were mink on the Esk who had driven away the otters.

As we came home along the shore the snow blew in keenly. It was good to get home to watch the second half of the Wales v Ireland rugby match. Wales travel to Murrayfield next weekend.
