Craven Faults

It's forty-three years since I bought my first single, which was 'Are 'Friends' Electric?' by Tubeway Army*. I don't know how many albums, e.p.'s, and singles I've bought in the ensuing decades but I can tell you that I have over thirty thousand songs in my iTunes library.

I've never, ever come close to stopping enjoying music although there have been times when I've wondered whether I would ever properly fall in love with another album or artist. I remember feeling this quite acutely just before Elbow released 'The Seldom Seen Kid Live At Abbey Road', an album that pretty much prevented me from listening to anything else for weeks after I bought it.

And then in 2017 I came across Craven Faults. I can't remember how, exactly: maybe it was through Bandcamp. I won't get into trying to explain modular synthesis but you can see some of the set up here. Anyway, suffice to say, I absolutely love them. (Although, actually, it's just one guy.)

In an odd but inspired merchandising move, he has released a number of limited edition t-shirts, all with exactly the same design, just different colours. Yesterday, I ordered yet another one.

*Full disclosure: whilst that was the first single I bought with my own money, the first single I ever owned was 'Sugar Sugar' by The Archies.
