Today's the day ………………….. to get away from it all

What a difference a day makes.

There was no hint today of the wild and wetness of yesterday.  It was calm, sunny - and even quite mild.  There was a real feeling of spring in the air as we took ourselves off to one of the hidden gems of this part of the world.

Carrick Bay is only five miles from Gatehouse of Fleet but is a place of unspoilt natural beauty with its picturesque sandy beach. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity and just the place to be on this lovely Sunday afternoon.  There are numerous beautiful walks to be had at the beach - and around the Carrick shore in the summertime, visitors can enjoy swimming, sailing and canoeing in the bay. 

Today, there was just a lone wind-surfer, skimming over the shining water …………….
