Past its best..

A large old tyre, propped behind the shed for many years, colonised by ivy, moss, lichen & powdery algae. It's had a double life - I don't know what sort of vehicle it came from - but we acquired, trimmed & painted it & used it as a sand pit for our daughters. Once they were beyond that stage we naively took it to the council waste depot, only to be turned away as it was considered to be commercial waste.

Perhaps it will stay behind the shed for many more years - or I could give it a third life as a raised flower bed, I suppose...
