Garlic

Got out in the veggie garden to do a bit of needed uncovering and tidying. The sun was warm in this sheltered spot behind our garage, and the air cold, which made for good working conditions. I planted peas in a sun-warmed bed; the soil in some areas is still frozen. Also cleared some old perennials, which involved a close encounter with a mouse (vole?) and a sense of satisfaction with what got done. There's much more to do, as ever...but the bulbs are peeking through and D's willow tree (the half that remains, after the deer chomped it) is starting to bud. And I heard the barred owls.
