Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Guess I’ll go with the flow and record that I got my first dose of the vaccine today.
I received a text from the surgery at midday on Tuesday. Half an hour later, postie delivered the official letter. But, by then, I’d already logged on and booked an appointment. Could have gone yesterday but, mindful of possible side effects the day after, I chose today for the actual jab so that I could still enjoy the traditional Sunday coffee and walk and worry about any reaction tomorrow.
As everyone else has commented, the whole process was extremely well organised and I was in, processed, jabbed and out in less than five minutes. A definite air of calm professionalism throughout, no doubt helped by the fact that everyone attending wanted to be there, and we all did our best to follow directions and help the process along.
Surprisingly, I seemed to be one of the oldest in there. But from the snippets of conversation I overheard I think there were a fair few who were in the “vulnerable” category - I heard one lady say she had been shielding for over twelve months!
No sign of any side effects yet but, if Mrs C’s experience is anything to go by, it won’t hit me until tomorrow. I’ve had a walk today and done a workout, so I’m ready for a quiet day tomorrow - whether it’ll be due to vaccine reaction, or just sheer laziness, remains to be seen!
