Pruning time

This afternoon I went to help F in his garden as his apple tree needed pruning and we join forces for big jobs.

It's quite a palaver to get started.  First we take the scaffolding platform to erect around  the tree then a ladder for the highest part.  He does the cutting and I try to avoid the flying twigs and put them in the pile for the wildlife to use with smaller pieces going in the recycling bin.

When it's all done  everything gets put away, the scaffolding parts are pretty heavy so carrying them is good for the muscles! 

I made a batch of scones this morning which I took with me so we enjoyed those with a cup of tea when we'd finished.
