Ready Steady.... Cook

It's been a wee while since we all got together to cook for the overnight homeless shelter, but tonight the troops were mustered together and some more scrumptious food was created!

I've been cooking with these guys for a number of years now and it is always a pleasure to catch up with them, find out what's been "going on" and enjoy a bit of good humored banter.

But it is always a privilege to be able to cook for people who for one reason or another, have found themselves homeless.

Maybe some wrong choices were made, maybe it's been a way of escaping some horrendous situation that they have faced, but whatever it has been, it is good to try and come along side others and help.

So some good food, a place of safety and rest is a start and maybe with the help of others the people who we were able to serve tonight, will in turn be able to help and serve others.

It's good to receive kindness... Its also good to give out kindness too.
