fresh out of the chrysalis

We went to the Butterfly Pavilion here in Grand Junction and were treated to the sight of a Giant Swallowtail freshly "hatched" and still pumping up its wings in a protected display. It was actually a bit distressing to watch because it flopped around and landed on its back, but here you can see it righted itself and took a rest.
In extras are a few other things we saw in the Pavilion. I was surprised to see a Giant Tortoise sharing the room, spotted three other species of butterflies, and enjoyed the colorful flowers. One thing I did not enjoy was the high heat and humidity! My first few photos were rubbish because the camera lens was completely fogged up!
