Fradley Pool - and some questions answered

A peaceful but chilly morning.

I walked round Fradley Pool - twice.

I also had a chat with two of the water board staff about the fact they’ve cut down all the trees on one side of the pool. Apparently, it’s a reservoir, feeding the canal. The bank was disintegrating and they were worried that it would take out the side wall. Since the Derbyshire reservoir emergency, they’ve really watched for this kind of risk. (Extra)

He was great. They paid attention to nesting birds, chose their time, and moved all the bat boxes.  My kind of workmen. 

Meanwhile, the little birds were happily posing for photos - apart from the wren.
