Matt’s birthday! I love this photo, it looks like a classic ‘five year old on Christmas morning surrounded by wrapping paper’ shot. Except he’s 32, looks knackered and very hairy.

I woke up at 3.30 last night so I got up and hung the decorations (face bunting is my new favourite thing) and put his presents out, then went back to bed. He was very confused how I’d managed it.

Presents, then breakfast, then Wendy and Si popped over with more presents. They got Matt a fancy coffee machine, which I’ll definitely make good use of too! In the afternoon we played his new game (Poetry for Neanderthals), ate babka and drank fancy coffee.

We got takeaway from Taka Taka for dinner, now watching Line of Duty before we get to enjoy the new pillows that arrived today.
