There Are More Questions Than Answers

At the start of last years lockdown a friend of ours started posting an online quiz via social media. Two rounds of ten questions - one general knowledge, one on a theme - and 24 hours to answer via Messenger. Results then posted just before the next quiz is up. Over a year later, and we’re still doing it. There was a short break last summer, but we are now up to number 361. I’ve grabbed the specialist round from today as it plays to my strengths (I’m hoping for 10/10!) - feel free to have a go yourselves.
The chap who sets these quizzes used to do a lot of pub quizzes and has also hosted some online “live” quizzes during the last year. A fairly thankless task - I’ve had to query more than a few answers over the last twelve months - but one of my fellow quizzers nominated him for a BBC North West Tonight Everyday Hero Award last April. Richly deserved - even more so as he is still doing it a year on.
I shall be sad to see the end of these daily quizzes, though I suppose it will mean that life has returned to normal and pub quizzes will have returned to their natural home!
With that in mind, there was some more lockdown easing in England today. Which has definitely raised more questions than answers! I had assumed that the move to “stay local” meant we couldn’t travel much further than our home area, yet Matt Hancock was on the radio saying you could go anywhere (in England) as long as no overnight stay was involved. Sadly, that is going to be the green light for everyone to flock to the coast and The Lakes next weekend. And it’s all slightly different in Scotland and Wales, just to add to the confusion!
I’m sure it will all work out in the end, but I sense there will be a lot more questions to be answered along the way.
