Watching the sun go down
A walk on the Tarset Trail in Sidwood (extra) late this afternoon. Not too far from home, but enough to give the van a good run through some lovely countryside in glorious sunny weather. Didn't spot any red squirrels in the woods, but the birdsong was amazing. A good place to avoid the Easter crowds - we saw only two dog walkers in the distance!
Afterwards, MrM drove up on to the top of the moors near High Green to watch the sunset. We parked by the Pennine Way and walked back to the brow of the hill to watch the sun sink below the far hills - it took about 5 minutes! Then back to the van to cook sausage and onion sandwiches, and hot coffee. Plans to eat outside abandoned as the temperature plummeted once the sun had gone down, and it was nice and warm in the van! Just before we set off for home, a shooting star flashed across the sky. A good omen maybe?!
