Eternal Flame

At least, that what it feels like. The absolutely miserable weather that has been with us since Sunday has meant we have barely left the house. Which, in turn, means the fire has been on pretty much all afternoon and evening each day. No signs of it getting warmer either, though it does look like it might be getting a bit less wet and windy over the next few days. It definitely seems that just as the country is preparing to open up again, the weather is forcing us back indoors!
My new glasses continue to annoy. Despite several trips back to the optician, they are only marginally more comfortable than when I picked them up just over a week ago. The fact I am ending each day with a headache would suggest there is still a way to go to get them right. I think the problem lies with the new frames looking very similar to the old ones and my mind therefore expects them to feel the same as well.
Slightly disturbing news about the AZ vaccine and possible causal link to blood clots. As we both had AZ for our first dose, we will have to have it for the second one as well. Still, no real side effects after the first one and a scientist on the telly last night put it into perspective by saying that getting a jab would be the safest thing you do that day. Apparently, there is a higher risk of dying from falling down stairs or choking on your breakfast than from a blood clot caused by the vaccine! And - in our age group - the risk of becoming seriously ill or dying from covid is considerably higher, so it is definitely better to have the vaccine than not.
