The Lion Queen

The daughters had sent the children to a drama club for 4 days last week. Ella and Nathaniel had been a few times before but Thomas and James only once a couple of years ago and they weren’t that keen. Their dad thought a sports holiday club might be better but daughter thought it would be good for them to be out of their comfort zone, and they’d have Nathaniel’s company. And the good news is, as you can see from the collage, they all loved it. I’m going to shell out for a week for them all in the summer. Ella and Nathaniel auditioned for speaking parts. She is a bit shy doing it but he’s in his element. Their cousins didn’t want a speaking part but enjoyed the singing and dancing around. The company that do it are so good and had good backgrounds for the scenes. As there could be no audience due to Covid the show was filmed and a link sent home. We captured some stills and edited so that the other children are not seen, for child protection reasons.

I’ve had a self-indulgent day, reading and preparing for introducing my book group choice “The Girl with the Louding Voice” on Monday. Mr C had his 5 hour round trip to Middlesbrough, taking our neighbour to visit her 84 year old husband who is in hospital rehab there, still unable to walk. He was in good spirits though - she took his Northumbrian pipes down so that he could entertain other patients.

I wonder when the Masterchef final will be on. Both BBC channels devoted themselves to the Duke of Edinburgh. I hope it’s not like when the king died - Mr C was looking forward to the last episode of something on Children’s Hour but their was a radio blackout and it was never played.
