Reasons to be Cheerful

It’s been that sort of day today - lots of little things which, in themselves, are of only slight significance but, taken together give me cause to be a lot more cheerful at the start of this week, than I was last Sunday.
Mrs C has had her second jab today, which means the Kendal Primary Care Network are working nearer the 8 week end of the NHS recommended 8-12 week gap between jabs. This should mean my second one will be at the beginning of May - hooray!
A text from our hairdresser yesterday offered us a haircut tomorrow morning instead of in a fortnight’s time. A definite “yes” to that one as my hair is the longest it’s been for forty odd years!
Walking around town this morning, there was activity going on inside a lot of the shops as they prepared to reopen. The coffee shops were working outside as well, marking where they could put tables. Though the forecast for next week might count against sitting outside for any length of time!
We think we’ve finally made a decision about moving house as well. In that we’re not! A second viewing of the one we were interested in raised more questions than answers. After a weekend of soul searching we have decided to stay put and push ahead with the various improvements that we had planned for our current house.
I’ve read through a script for a play we may be able to put on this autumn. All about a shambolic group of amateur thespians (that’ll be us then, after a year without performing) and very funny it is too. A Zoom read through is being planned as I write. And, also in the realm of performing, I have been asked to be guitar tech for my friend when his band plays at a small festival in June.
And, finally, my trainer’s gym is almost finished (still being worked on as you can see in the photo), and hopefully will be up and running in the next week or so. I can’t wait for my first PT session there, but will content myself, in the meantime, with a few visits to my usual gym, which is definitely reopening tomorrow.
All in all, quite a lot to be optimistic about!
