Filling in the time

It is dandelion and daisy time. The emerging plants have their sequences.

We knew that J would be some time in the hospital, although it proved to be much longer than we had anticipated. I wish I could go in with her, but patients have to go unaccompanied. So it being a fine day I went for a walk, and sent her a sequence of photos as I went. We had a WhatsApp conversation over three plus hours.

First up the hill to look at St Mary’s church (extra). From it and the adjacent castle ruin there are fine views of the Mersey Valley - the two Runcorn bridges and the now defunct Fiddlers Ferry power station being especially prominent.

Then downhill and into the huge Town Park. It’s a mix of wide open grass areas and woodland/copses. Very quiet, maybe everyone was shopping now that things have opened up.

Then I returned to base past the edge of “shopping city”. This is the only side of the centre I know as it’s the direct route back to the hospital, and deserted. I wonder why (extra) ?
