Holly Blue butterfly

It's been a lovely sunny day and F and I went bowling in the park with the group. We had a good time playing and amusing conversation as usual.

Afterwards we sat and had coffee in F's garden where we saw a female Holly Blue butterfly in his holly bush. (He'd seen two flying round it yesterday). Looking at the photos afterwards, I think that she was laying eggs as they lay on the holly flower buds at this time of year. It was so  lovely to see. We'll have to keep looking for the caterpillars in a couple of weeks (if his large flock of resident house sparrows  don't spot them first!)
