Mmm, well deserved
Just got back from a very enjoyable beetle drive at school and look what was waiting for me!
*drum roll* William slept through last night. I mean properly slept through, 18.15-06.30, without so much of a murmur. The previous sleeping through episodes have meant he has slept from when I have gone to bed until 06.20, but usually with lots of disturbance in the evening. So I think last night was officially the first time I can honestly say that W slept through properly. However C woke up at just after 5am and seemed incapable of staying in her own room. Typical.
Kids at school and Goslings I headed out for a run, which although hard was better than Monday and I was less sore than I had expected following Wednesday's exploits. Hoping to get back quicker than I thought was possible on Monday.
Later I went off to have my hair cut. It is now shorter than it has been for a long time, not completely happy but much happier than I was with the last cut. It neeeds for me to live with it a while and then to tweak it a bit. However I do have to figure what to do with it when I am exercising.
Picked up W from Goslings with his promised packet of sweets for sleeping through the night, fingers crossed for tonight. He showed the packet to every adult that works in the pre-school and explained why he had them. Bless.
At school pick up, while waiting, W fell into a patch of mud. This precipitated a near melt down as he really wanted to take off his now slightly soggy trousers and I wanted him to keep them on until we got back in the car, but no. He pulled them down and then managed to get them so wet that I gave up and let him take them off. William then seemed to feel very liberated and raced around the playground sans trousers (but with pants on). I looked like the original bad parent, but hey who cares. When C came out he was so excited to see her that her raced over hands above head showing his alien underpants off to anyone who cared to look. Carys was either going to find it very funny or excruciatingly embarrassing. Luckily on this occasion it was the former.
So Carrys and I after tea had a girly night out at the annual Beetle drive at school. It was actually a lot of fun. Our table won two prizes, the adult and the child with the lowest scores (not a good thing!) and I realised that she is even more like me than I care to admit as she refused to come for a drink and a biscuit at the break as she was doing her beetle design competition.
"The competitive gene is strong in this one."
So now for that glass of wine...
