Smiles
.... The post that she receives brings her a lot of joy. This adorable card was hand drawn for her and it absolutely delighted her.
Today was, 95%, a really good day. She's worrying a bit because she feels she's working as hard she possibly can but is behind all of her classmates. As I keep explaining to her though, it's not behind. It's just different learning. She did her best in her English assessment but said she had no idea if she'd done well because she doesn't know what they want.
She was a very chatty, articulate girl on the phone. We still have a significant issue, genuinely a big one, to work through. But she spoke about this without quite as much rage as the last couple of conversations and she allowed me to steer her away mainly. She had so much happy and chatter. Telling me the odd thing that was irking her, but happy chatter about her bassoon lesson, fun things with her friend, tomorrow's rounders match, her post, what they're going to be doing this evening in the boarding house (making popcorn, she was very excited). She was chattering on about how she doesn't feel she's getting enough exercise. She bubbled on about extra clothes she wants me to send her, because "some people have got TEN outfits. It doesn't have to be three like they say". We talked about a couple of small things, not really issues but unknowns, and she now feels able to go address them with her house staff. She's very much hoping that the outcome of one of the conversations will be that they'll allow her to warm her milk, because that is what she really wants. Such a big girl. But she still really wants her nighttime favourite.
It was so good to talk to her tonight. She's doing really well.
