Last day in St Ives

What a fabulous time we have had in St Ives. The weather has been amazing and Ann is looking very tanned and gorgeous. OK, maybe not gorgeous! We've been outside pretty much all the time and because I'm such a good little collie pup, (and dogs are allowed on all the beaches until 15th May this year) Ann has taken me out and about with her most of the time.

Its like COVID doesn't exist in England?! After not being able to meet with more than one household outside in Scotland since September (ie only one person if you're single) and only being allowed to see our 'bubble' (extended household in Scotland, but only one person if you're single) indoors, it's been fantastic to meet with lots of real live people every single day since we've been here.

We've been to BBQs, pizza parties, lets drink wine on the beach parties, coffee mornings in friends gardens, walks with friends, etc, etc. You name it, we've done it and it's been absolutely wonderful. It's what we would be doing in normal times if the weather was this good.

My human even popped into Boots the other day to pick up a free COVID testing kit. Not sure if tests are widely available in Scotland yet, but down here everyone is being encouraged to test themselves twice a week.

Tomorrow we have to say goodbye to our lovely St Ives home and head back to Edinburgh. Ann really wants to stay because she loves the outdoor life and our weather app for Edinburgh is showing rain for all of next week. Boohoo!! Unfortunately lock down has meant that we have lost 8 months of income over the last year (and no, we didn't qualify for the £10,000 gov pay out), so as of Friday, our lovely St Ives home is pretty much fully booked until the beginning of September, when we'll be back. We'll also be back for a month at the end of June as well.

My human can't remember how to put in a link to our very lovely St Ives home, but if anyone is interested, we have 19th-22nd May still available. If any of you Blippers want a 3 day break in St Ives on those dates just let us know and we'll give you a 10% discount.

…...................And the sun is still shining in a corner of our sunny sun terrace, so I'm guessing my human is going to head out there with a glass of wine.
