Abbey Weir and Mill, Knaresborough

This morning we took the car for a service in Knaresborough and went for a wander by the river. We weren't expecting particularly good weather today, so it was a pleasant surprise to have sunshine. This is the old weir and Abbey Mill on the River Nidd. 
The Mill is obviously a private residence now, but I think it was once a textile mill. I suspect the wheel no longer functions. I did find some old photos of the mill on the internet which were taken around 1915. I have put these in today's extras.
A few hundred yards downstream is the excellent Watermill Cafe housed in another old mill. After our little walk, coffee and cake were consumed there on the elevated balcony overlooking the river. (Second extra.)
