Brits on the golf course

On Friday our A & B teams played the last league game of the season against one another. It was a crucial game for both teams, as a win for the A team meant promotion and a loss for the B team meant relegation. As all 16 players gathered on the first T of the appointed golf course a rather officious marshall came up to my playing partner and told him in no uncertain terms that as he hadn't got golf shoes on he couldn't play. This is a guy who has had 2 heart attacks and suffers from angina, he also has a problem with his left foot and he cannot wear golf shoes. We tried to reason with this marshall but he would not bend. One of our members went into the caddy masters office and said that if Barry couldn't play then non of us would play and the loss of revenue would be huge, common sense prevailed and he was allowed to play. The B team thrashed the A team 15 nil. So both teams stay in the same division.

So whats that got to do with the photo. This was our course today, we had all played and were sat outside having a drink waiting for the results when a group of 20 Brits arrived to play their holiday golf. Despite the fact that we have changing rooms they all decided to change into their golf shoes outside the caddy masters office! We all fell about laughing when the guy in the white 'trousers' arrived. He was vertically challenged (short a..e), on a person of average height these 'trousers' would probably have been at calf level, still not suitable for the golf course. He probably thought he looked the 'bees knees' and his playing partner was suitably sartorially attired. Are these people blind when it comes to trying on clothes, don't they look in the mirror or get a second opinion or do they just buy their clothes without trying them on and assume that they will look great.

We as a society have a fairly strict dress code and it is adhered to, unfortunately our club is happy to accept anyone regardless of dress code or playing ability. Its all about money. I wish I'd had the guts to ask for his email address I would have sent him this shot.
