To you, Mr Wilson!

I’ve been glued to Twitter today as the local election results have slowly been drifting in. Unusually for true Blue Shropshire, and unusual against the backdrop of what’s been happening elsewhere, the Tories have taken a bit of a hit today and it’s hard not to see that as a reaction to how the council have been running things and the controversial North West Relief Road. My ward went from blue to yellow, not surprising given our proximity to the proposed road.

The result I was waiting for came in this evening when a friend of mine and massive advocate for active travel was up against the council leader and notoriously dreadful Peter Nutting. He did it! What an incredible result!

I haven’t really paid much attention to the rest of the U.K. today but am pleasantly surprised at some of the results in Shroppers.
