Finding my feet
Thank you to everyone who commented and posted stars on yesterday’s blip.
I called into work today for crisis talks. We are all still in a state of shock but together we will get through it.
It’s funny how things have a way of working out and today everything just fell into place.
I’d spoken to my consultant on Friday about the possibility of returning to work. Given my better than expected mobility, he agreed I could consider a phased return; based on the fact that my boss had offered to chauffeur me to work and home (since it’s only a mile from where I live).
My plan was to speak to them this week about doing that at some point in June.
However, with Marina’s sudden death and the fact there’s nobody else to cover, I offered my services and am returning to work this Wednesday!
Due to the fact I can’t drive and I was made redundant from another practice (only last week), it means I’m free to help out every day if needed until he can recruit another pair of hands.
As happy as they are for me to be able to do this, they’re mindful of me doing too much too soon, so have kindly thinned out the diary and added in frequent rest breaks for me.
Although I wish the circumstances were different, I’m looking forward to getting back to work. It will make my days go a little faster and help with my step count walking from room to room.
I’m due to have my shoulder op on the 20th, so have taken the following week off for recovery; I might need it!
Today’s blip is the cover of a dental journal I received today. Quite apt considering the days events ;-)
