Working girl

Today was my first day in work after 6 months!!

Other than missing Mr A, it felt good to be back in the saddle.
Once I’d seen my first patient of the day, it felt like I’d never been away!

It was a bit of a challenge, as today was a 6 hour stint with no lunch break but I’d asked them to leave it like that to see how I coped.
I thought I’d done ok and there were rest breaks in between patients, though upon reflection, maybe not for long enough.
By the time I got home, my ankle was feeling tight and was really quite swollen. I think I may have been a bit ambitious!

Still, you don’t know until you try and they are more than willing to adapt to my needs, but perhaps I need to rethink how long I work for.

Patients have been really sympathetic, with comparisons to when they had a sprained ankle or jolted knee not quite the same hun, but thanks .
There was only one person I couldn’t treat as they couldn’t wouldn’t lie back in the chair and I wasn’t about to stand up for 20 minutes to do it.

I’m back in again on Friday, but only for 3.5 hours, so that should help me gauge how long is too long for my leg.

I’ll sleep tonight! :-)
