Diary of an Edinburgher

Sunny! Dry! WARM!!

Archie and I walked along the road this morning to meet JR coming back from the gym. I wanted to go a wee walk and try my new, more normal, gait. But I sat on a bench in the sun and didn’t go far. Actually, I had had a text from our ex-neighbour, saying he was coming for a coffee at 11am, and so I didn’t want to go far, as I can’t rush. JR caught up with us on the way back anyway.

Our ex-neighbour popped in and we caught up with his news. His flat has been for sale, but not sold yet, so he’s putting it back on AirB&B for the summer. He wants to sell it and buy a house in France - he’s got residency there and does guided walks in the mountains.

I have been ringing Uncle A’s hospital ward several times a day. Nobody EVER answers the phone. I know, having been a patient on many occasions, that phones are ringing constantly, and generally go unanswered. I don’t know what’s going on, I had expected him out on Monday after the weekend. So I thought I’d better go and get a few more things for him. I know they will ring and let me know when they’ve decided to let him home. Considering they talked of keeping him in for ‘another night for observation’ last week, this seems to have gone on for a long time.

On the way, I dropped JR and Archie up the hill and they walked home. It was a glorious day - warm, no breeze, and white fluffy clouds. I gave instructions to JR to get lots of clouds in!

Very peaceful today, with no painters appearing at windows. But I do hope the scaffolding is not going to remain in our front garden for too long - JR has bought some wee plants and wants to get them in now that the frosty nights seem to have left us.
