Usual Service Resumes

Today is mild and sunny after several wet and cooler days.  I took my first walk around the garden after coming home.  I know five days without gardening, most unusual.  The red hot pokers are out, the wax-eye birds are back, one tui, a pair of fantails flitting and an old monarch butterfly.  I checked later and she had laid eggs on the swan plant. it will be interesting to see if they hatch in early winter.  There was little wind on the Waimea inlet and the sun was sparkling in large sheets on the water.
