Feeding the ducks

We went to see Granny and Grandpa today, it was lovely - my sister and niece were also visiting.  It was the perfect tonic and good to be with family.  The object of the weekend has been to keep everyone occupied, keep minds from straying and not to let anyone feel the gaping whole that is Daddy in hospital.

We had a walk to feed the ducks, this was great, until the heavens opened and we all got rather drenched.  The youngest was not at all convinced about taking a different way home, so he and I had a lovely walk back together, drenched and chatting about how we will be a square again (his way of talking about Daddy coming back home, where we all sit around the table in a square).

Home in time to make flap jack for the husband who is struggling with hospital food, and a sword in time for 'medieval day' to accompany the awful cheap polyester outfit I got from Amazon

Today I'm grateful for:
Family
Neighbours - who come and look after the boys which enables me the time to walk the dog
The boys, who are just great.
