The freezing islands

Day 2 of an unprecedented spell of weather for Guernsey. The snow continued to fall until the early hours and we have had more than a few showers during the day. All the schools were closed again, resulting in happy children up at an unfeasibly early hour! The airport too has been closed for a second day resulting in thousands of people stranded on both sides of the Channel. The wind has dropped a little but is still gusting wildly at times.
The blip shows the islands of Herm, Jethou and, in the background, Sark. They too have had their fair share of the white stuff . Herm has lost all phone and internet services too for the moment! Thankfully, no such calamitous event has befallen us!
