Real life adventure

Today Katie had her first day of a two day real life, in person music course with Opera North. She had been very pleased to be awarded a scholarship and be going but then yesterday had a wobble. But she went.... And she had a great time! She's the only bassoonist and has two tutors, all to herself! They thought she was fabulous and very good. The conductor said how excited they were when her application came in so they could put in some brilliant bassoony repertoire, which Katie is enjoying exploring.

They took them on a wander during their lunch break, round the lake near by and watching the planes at the airport beside the lake. She was very pleased to see one land! 

The drive home was quite awful, I had forgotten how vile the m621 and the m62 are at rush hour... Our Leeds journeys used to always avoid that particular unpleasantness! One more day tomorrow - I get to actually watch her perform!
