Blowing off the grumps
She has been persistently grumpy much of the time she has been home so far. Lots of lovely but lots of grumpy too. But we tried very hard to overcome it repeatedly today. We left home before 7 at her request to go enjoy a walk and the park before people came to do the same. We also spent 20 minutes on the outdoor gym equipment together until we walked home. As we came through town, we saw a dad with his small children who had treated them to pre 830 gingerbread. Katie declared that seemed a good breakfast. She was adorably pleased when I said "you're right, let's do it". I also bought a loaf cake for when we saw B.
We gathered belongings at home and headed up to Bs. Katie did a bassoon lesson. We decided to have a coffee and our cake. Minor disaster, we discovered the cake was in fact mouldy! The grumpy was sneaking back in so the three of us to Margo-dog for a long walk and they ran off Katie's grumps.
I did Katie's lunch at home. She started a movie and then decided she was going to bake biscuits. It was an on and off all afternoon project as it took lots of batches, lots of cleaning and then a trip for a few more decorating bits. Decorating the biscuits was a happy time together.
I'm about to make hot chocolate to have with now set biscuits before I tuck her up with a story.
