Lunch in town
JR went to the gym, as there is no need to be fanatical about keeping away from everyone now that we will not be going to Jersey next week. They do not want people from Edinburgh to visit, as Edinburgh’s Covid numbers are soaring - it’s a hotspot. Most depressing.
As soon as Elizabeth took Archie out (he had a great day out with his pal Woody) we headed off into town. We had booked lunch at Hawksmoor, for we just fancied a steak. And the best chips in town (triple fried). We shared an entree and dessert, both were delicious. (Extra 1)
After lunch we had a stroll in St Andrew’s Square, which was buzzing with activity even a pipe band of young folk. One wee lad seemed to have a very heavy drum as he marched off (Extra 2). We then headed for John Lewis, as I hadn’t been to see the new shop. But what I’m really looking forward to is the opening of whole new St James Quarter later this month.
I spent the morning walking round, inside, in one pair of my new shoes, testing to see if I should keep them. The other pair are definitely going back. But I’m still not sure at all...
While in town, we had a text from Hazel inviting us to come for a G&T in her back garden as it was such a lovely evening. So we did. In fact, it was a lovely warm day - JR went into town without a cardie or jacket! And I think the good weather continues tomorrow!
