Chilly Windermere

A disappointingly grey morning for a swim. The boat covers offered some welcome colour.  The temperature seemed to have dropped a few degrees since last week- brrrr 11.5°C. 
Its the Great North Swim in Windermere this weekend . I was listening to a report about it on the radio as I drove to the lake. I'm sure the presenter said something about 18°C, maybe that is air temperature.  No, I've found the website for the "John West Great North Swim" this weekend and there is a link to a lake temperature gauge, which is estimating 19°C. The 10km swimmers must wear a wetsuit if the lake is colder than 15°C. I hope they come prepared. There is no way its going to get to 19
