Well,

today's photo was choice between her shoving a subway sandwich in her mouth or a terrible screenshot of a lovely few minutes during our video call.

She sent me a couple of WhatsApp messages to say their house mistress was getting them a paddling pool which they were going to collect and to say she was in subway. She had a masterclass with the head of woodwind from the Royal Academy of Music this afternoon, online. I spoke to her after tea and she said it went really well. She had a meltdown while we were on the phone. When there's this few of them, she has to interact more than when there's more and she can do her own thing. But at the same time, the two who were there are very screen dependent and Katie felt really lonely a lot of the day. However, she had a happy time in the garden making a beach with the paddling pool and she has spent quite a bit of time this weekend working on a solo to a Swan Lake extract. This is what she showed me after she'd settled down during our phone call. That of itself was a big step forward. We haven't had many times where she's had a phone meltdown where she's let me talk her round. But today, she really was in pieces and I didn't think we'd get there and she let me. Turned it round and ended up having a nice few minutes afterwards. She's played her saxophone this afternoon, did some clarinet yesterday. Her piano is coming on. She's doing so well really. And I have to remember that when she's at home we get big emotions, it's just that then she can come for cuddles.
