fire friday

Luke and Laura (from Edinburgh) and Sarah and Chris (from London) all arrived by train at lunchtime and came to The Usual Place. I finished work early, at 2pm and we all went home together. It's SO lovely to have them all here - Sarah and Chris had booked holiday to come here last December, then in February and again in April, but each time had to cancel because of Covid restrictions. They have all been working hard so are in need of a rest, and this is a nice restful place to be :-)

This evening we all wandered down to the river for a Fire Friday. Luke made the fire, then we cooked our (vegan) sausages and burgers on the embers. Jess spent all the time in the water; this is her view of everyone standing around the fire before the cooking began.
