Old and new....

The hillock bottom left is believed to be the original site of Castle Grant prior to the seventeenth century. The building top right is the present Castle, restored in the nineteenth century. Some renovations took place as recently as 2017, when the current owner bought it, ostensibly with money fraudulently obtained in Russia, where he is serving a second prison term.
A fine day with a small shower mid afternoon, to water the plants.
This shot is taken from the middle of what is usually a bog, today bone dry. Found some good plants , including Heath spotted orchids and Marsh Cinquefoil.
