Hark! Hark!

Yes, another Hakea! This one looks prickly but it's only kidding, trying to keep you off it. The leaves are like needles to look at - quite different from yesterday's blip. And the follicles too - much more knobbly and rough.
Extra: a follicle opening...with a big smile.
It's a fascinating genus! This one is (probably) Hakea propinqua.
P.S. Plants, seeds etc that I blip are only collected from permissable areas...mostly weedy, neglected roadsides.
