A Rainy Day on the Cut (E)
The day started for me with coffee in bed, checking Blips and listening to the rain pitter patting on the roof.
Once up and dressed we had to turn the boat round and go back to the previous lock and Asda so Frank could get diesel in the big canister while I did the shopping. Luckily for that short time it stopped raining :-D
Back at the boat we had lunch after which I took Bella May outside to brush her as she is shedding hair like nobody's business then
we put her in the shower much to her disgust (extra) She was starting to be a bit whiffy! When she was all towel dried she shook herself and more hair flew everywhere so I vacuumed the boat, the dog and the husband - all were full of dog hairs!
Bella got her promised doggie chewy treat.
The 2nd extra shows Poppy and Arlo on their last day of term and for Poppy last day of primary school.
She is pictured hold the cup for her group as she is House Captain of the Red Team and it's the first time they've won for years!
The rest of the afternoon was spent chilling and I got my ukuleles out.
I must confess I've neglected my ukes since the start of Covid. As some of you may remember I got very stressed in 2020 and my creativeness took a nose dive for a few months. I gradually got my mojo back with drawing and sewing but the ukuleles stayed in their cases. I brought them on this trip as I knew I would have the time and feel relaxed enough.
A new Blip follower mentioned today that we both play uke and that spurred me on.
Thank you BVFL33!
I came across a song I had been learning a few months ago - Love and Happiness - and asked Frank to play guitar and sing along. I did harmonies. It needs some work but it sounded quite nice. However it will never be as beautiful as Emmy Lou and Mark Knopfler - https://youtu.be/Gn9nTvjbTDE
Frank also played some twangy bits on a song 'wot I wrote' called Handyman. I really enjoyed myself.
It's been a very pleasant rainy day!
Now for a bit of telly then book and bedtime.
Goodnight - have a good weekend :-)X
NB: Matt Hancock is in trouble for breaching social distancing rules - he was definitely a bit closer than a meter! Sleazy rat! :-[]
