Crowded House
Up at the stables this morning. The roof on the stables was replaced last year and the old swallow nexts have not been used by the returning birds this year. Instead they have built new ones, in many cases using the new lighting units as a base.
I've been checking the inhabitants and they vary from a single fledgling in one nest to this situation where I have counted five! Certainly not a lot of room now they are getting bigger. It is also a problem for the parents as the heads are pointing out of the nest in an arc of 180 degrees.
We just got back in time for the football. I was alive last time England beat Germany in a knockout stage of a tournament, though even I have to admit I was too young to remember it!
