Tuesday: Taylor Arm Provincial Park

We left Tofino in relatively good time, mainly because we had to avoid road closures for the only road in and about.  Roads are slowed between 11-3 so we needed to get out ahead of that.

That meant we could take a fairly leisurely approach to the journey.  We stopped for a bite in Port Alberni and also stretched our legs at Taylor Arm Provincial Park.  We also took a look at the famous goats on roofs in Coombs (see extra).

It was too hot to do very much else so we got to the ferry terminal in good time and enjoyed the air conditioning in the car.

Over the last few days, western Canada has broken 59 previous weather records with Lytton having the rare distinction of being the hottest place in Canada since records began (at 47.9).  That’s global warming and only the beginning………
