Just About Visible Through The Grey
Not the best weather as we were woken up by torrential rains and a whining puppy at a little before 5am. After a quick walk around the village with Dylan in my pjs and flowery raincoat, looking exceptionally attractive, I was able to go back to bed for a few hours.
It was still raining by the time we finished breakfast, but we decided to head out anyway. We drove to Sandsend for a walk along the beach and a bit of fossil hunting. We just about missed the heavy rain and it certainly made it very atmospheric with Whitby Abbey just about visible through the grey. Mr Kit was triumphant in the fossil hunting stakes too finding a very nice ammonite.
We had a lovely meal at The Cod and Lobster in Staithes this evening, just a short walk from the cottage. The food was good and the company better. We did get home to find Dylan had not been shut in his pen properly and he’d managed to help himself to his bag of dog treats and one of the boys leftover Bakewell Tart from lunchtime! Just as well we have a long walk planned tomorrow to burn off those excess calories.
